28 hour G class Instructions
GENERAL INFORMATION
Following guidelines established by Florida Chapter 493, Class “G” licensed armed security officers are required to complete 28-hours of classroom and range instruction under the direction of a Class “K” licensed instructor.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A QUALIFICATION. NOT A LEARN HOW TO SHOOT COURSE!!!
SOME EXPERIENCE WITH A FIREARM IS NECESSARY TO PASS!!!

Students that pass the final exam and range qualification will be given proof of completion to provide to the State when they apply for the Class “G” license.
DATES & TIMES
Your upcoming 28-hour G class is scheduled for (3) days. First (day) will be in a classroom setting and therefore you will not need to bring any firearms or equipment. Second (day) will be all about firearms so bring all your gear and firearm if you have one. Third (day) you will be shooting at the range. You must bring your gun and equipment.
Class times are as follows:
Day 1: 0800 – 1800 class
Day 2: 0800 – 1800 class
Day 3: 0900 – 1700 range

Class will be held at ESS Global Corporation: TBD
EQUIPMENT & FIREARMS
The state to Florida allows for the use of the following calibers. You can only use the caliber that you qualify on. If you are qualifying on two different calibers, there will be a $50.00 fee for the second caliber:
- .380
- 38 caliber (in a 38 or 357 revolver)
- 9mm
- 40 cal
- 45 cal
In addition to bringing your firearm, you will need to bring the following:
- A minimum of two (2) magazines or speed loaders but preferably three (3)
- A retention type holster for your strong side (no cross-draws)
- Necessary pouches to hold your magazines or speed loaders
- A belt (closed toed shoes or boots). Long pants.
- Ammo – 150 rounds – NO ALUMINUM
Students possessing their own firearm may use them on the range, however, do not bring them to class. Those students who do not have their own firearm may rent one of our firearms by paying a maintenance fee of $30.00 on the first day of class. 9mm is the only caliber firearms we provide for rental.
If you are bringing a firearm to the range on Day 3, the weapon should be brought to the range unloaded and encased. All weapons will be subject to a safety inspection prior to live fire by the instructor.
COST & PAYMENT
The cost of the class will be $190. This includes classroom and range fee.

NOTES
- YOU MUST RESERVE A SEAT BEFORE THE CLASS. SEATING IS LIMITED.
There is a $50 nonrefundable deposit. The balance of $140 and will be due 3 days before the start of class on Saturday. There are no refunds. If you cannot make it, you will lose your deposit.
